About the Role
Motorola Solutions is looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to join their IT operations team. The role focuses on supporting cloud operations, automating software delivery processes, and maintaining infrastructure to ensure optimal system performance.
Key Responsibilities
Deployment and Operations:
- Assist in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage version control systems and coordinate code merges and deployments.
- Work with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes under guidance.
Monitoring and Automation:
- Monitor and report on infrastructure using tools like Nagios, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline operational tasks.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Troubleshoot and resolve build or deployment issues.
- Create and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and IT teams.
Learning and Improvement:
- Follow best practices in system administration, security, and code deployment.
- Evaluate new technologies and contribute to process improvements.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Basic understanding of Linux/Windows system administration and network protocols.
- Exposure to scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Knowledge of automation tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
